Held every two years, the Small Farm Living Field Day is a partnership between NRM North and Lilydale Landcare. President of Lilydale Landcare, Nigel Russell, has been practicing sustainable farming for over 10 years. He said the event is a great opportunity to gather valuable information.

“The Small Farm Living Field Day is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with a small property … It's a chance to learn, connect with like-minded individuals, and gain practical skills that will make a real difference on your farm. I'm excited to be a part of this event and to share my experiences with fellow small landholders.”

The previous event held in 2021 attracted over 600 attendees. The 2023 event will feature an increased number of information stalls, including fire management and preparedness, waste minimisation, and farm forestry, as well as presentations on managing pasture growth, beneficial insects in agriculture, enhancing natural habitat on farms, fencing demonstrations, and pest management. There’s also plenty to keep the kids entertained, a livestock display, and local produce.

Join us at the Small Farm Living Field Day to discover the sustainable land management practices that will help your small farm thrive while conserving and appreciating its natural values. Entry is free.
