Sustainable Agriculture Field Officer

Launceston, Tasmania

  • Casual – commencing mid to late November until May 2026
  • Casual rate $50 per hour, inclusive of loading, plus superannuation
  • Office location: 63 – 65 Cameron Street, Launceston

The Sustainable Agriculture Field Officer will be a part of a team undertaking land management activities on bushland and near waterways to achieve project outcomes. The successful applicant will have:

  • Relevant TAFE or University education, or relevant industry experience would be highly regarded.
  • Be physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, and able to carry heavy items used for soil sampling using safe operating procedures.
  • Experience working on property conducting general labouring, soil sampling, or land management activities.
  • The ability to work safely and effectively in a small team, adhere to site safety and environmental guidelines at all times and comply with all WHS requirements including correct use of provided protective equipment.

This casual position will commence in mid to late November and continue until the end of May 2026. As the role is dependent on weather conditions, staff availability, and seasonal workloads, there are no minimum guaranteed hours per week. Work hours may vary, particularly around the Christmas office closure period and times when NRM North staff are available for on-site work.
